At the site of Schlitz an highly modern plant for the production of cross-laminated timber will be built by the spring time of 2019.

Innovation with future

The site of Schlitz is part of the Pfeifer Group since 1997. Until the spring of 2017 here are produced per year 1.2 millions m² shuttering panels and  formwork beams. In the autumn of 2017 the transformation and expansion for a highly modern cross-laminated timber production takes place, the completion is planned for the spring of 2019.

With the acquisition of the Schlitz-based production facilities, Pfeifer operates a site outside of Austria for the first time.

1998
Renewal process takes off

Pfeifer renews its timber feed system.

1999
Site innovation

The construction of the wood treatment system underlines the Pfeifer Group’s innovative strength.

2001 to 2004
Ongoing investment into quality

For three years in a row, important new plant parts are built in the form of drying chambers, storage hall and frame sawmill.

2006
Extension of the formwork range

With the construction of its beam plant, the Pfeifer Group extends its formwork element competence at the Schlitz site.

2017
Start of a new era

The design and planning of a new plant for the production of cross laminated timber on the existing company premises begin.

2019
Production start for Pfeifer CLT cross laminated timber

Since the summer of 2019, high-quality CLT for the booming timber construction business are built in the new manufacturing halls. The raw material is sourced directly from the neighbouring Pfeifer sawmill in Lauterbach, which creates a perfect synergy between the two Hessian sites.
