Sawn & profiled timber
Green power
Pallet blocks

Pfeifer began in 2008 on an area of 50 hectares in the Hessian Lauterbach with the complete new construction of a fully integrated production site. Also in Lauterbach 100% of delivered round timber is processed. Until now Pfeifer has invested around 150 millions Euros in the modern plant.

Our product fields

In Lauterbach we produce sawn timber, pallet blocks, wood pellet and green power that is fed into the public power network. An highly efficient saw line with a

processing quantity up to 40 trunks per minute

clearly shows the size of the material supply. It lies also in Lauterbach in our own hands.

Starting signal on the
green meadow

With the ground breaking for the new Lauterbach site comes also the starting signal of the largest single investment in the company history of the Pfeifer Group.

Off it goes

After a bit more than a year time, Pfeifer is able to put the factory into operation.

New product

Also in Lauterbach begins the pellet production. Further drying chamber are put into operation.

Success with pellets

A second pellet silo with 9,000 tonnes of storage capacity is put into operation.

On the upswing

Extension of chip preparation and chip drying. Log production is also being expanded.

Extension and optimisation of timber drying by a channel tunnel dryer. In addition, a new sorting scanner and an automatic enclosure will be put into operation.

A milestone for logistics

The factory's own railway siding will go into operation in April. After a construction period of almost one and a half years, the large-scale project, which costs 16 million euros, is supporting the long-term supply security of the site with the raw material wood.

Modern efficiency

Introduction of the "digital log yard" with sorting optimisation software for the optimal use and control of the log yard.
