Close to the German border is located the Czech city of Trhanov, where the tradition of the timber processing goes back to the 19th century. Today the Pfeifer plant of Trhanov has become one of the worldwide largest producers of shuttering panels with a production capacity of 2 millions m².
The product range includes a wide selection of various types of shuttering panels in various sizes. Most of the panels are deliverable at any time. The Pfeifer saw mills in Kundl, Lauterbach and Unterbernbach ensure the supply of production with sawn timber.
Various small saws establish themselves in the 19th century in the South-East of the Upper Palatinate forest around Trhanov.
A steam saw is
built as a state company.
A modernisation process has as its consequence the construction of frame saws and the start of a carpentry company.
In Trhanov begins the production of
Wooden huts and garden houses.
With the arrival of the Anton Heggenstaller company also the product line is changed. The production of shuttering panels sounds the bell of a new era.
The production plants in Trhanov are acquired by the Pfeifer Group.
Pfeifer starts the production of timber pellets.
