Timber is more than just raw material, timber is a philosophy.
We are currently working on a comprehensive sustainability report in line with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
Our goal is to present our actions, progress and strategic aims in ecological, social and economic sustainability transparently while meeting the requirements of the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) in full.
At the start of the project, we carried out a thorough double materiality analysis. This involved engaging both internal and external stakeholders to identify the ESG topics most relevant to our business. Building on this, an ESRS gap analysis was conducted, which highlighted the areas where further improvements in sustainability reporting are needed.
An ongoing core part of the project involves creating a comprehensive greenhouse gas balance (covering Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions) and performing a climate risk assessment. This goes beyond just tracking our emissions: it also examines potential physical and transitional risks across our value chain, laying the groundwork for setting clear climate goals. We are also reviewing our economic activities under the EU Taxonomy framework to assess and openly report on their environmental sustainability based on EU standards.
Close collaboration across different teams within the company is vital to gathering data and building a shared understanding of sustainability priorities. At the same time, we are developing a structured system for collecting, processing, and documenting ESG data, supported by governance and control mechanisms to ensure consistent and sustainable reporting.
Even though the Omnibus Regulation has delayed mandatory reporting for our company, we remain fully committed to pushing this project forward. We are making the most of the additional time by focusing on producing high-quality content, improving internal structures and consolidating internal insights to gain a clearer understanding of the topic.
This allows us to lay the foundation for forward-looking, policy-compliant and credible sustainability reporting.
