Timber is more than just raw material, timber is a philosophy.
In this project, we explore the opportunities and risks of the EU Green Deal specifically for our glulam products.
The Green Deal sets ambitious climate goals, with far-reaching impacts across many industries, including timber construction. Glulam plays a significant role in sustainable construction, where its material properties and suitability for environmentally friendly projects are highly valued.
Our primary aim in this project is to identify specific opportunities and risks affecting our glulam products as a result of the EU Green Deal’s new requirements and regulations. We assess how these changes might affect our production processes, supply chains and overall market position. Additionally, we explore how market and demand trends may be influenced by new regulations.
The full impact of the Green Deal remains to be seen. This makes it crucial to identify potential changes early on, allowing us to respond flexibly to new requirements and market developments. On the one hand, we anticipate opportunities, such as increased demand for sustainable construction materials or potential government subsidies for climate-friendly production methods. On the other hand, risks may emerge, such as stricter environmental regulations, rising CO2 costs or shifting market conditions.
This project forms part of the broader INNO² project series, a recurring initiative by the Pfeifer Innovation Hubs to boost the innovation and sustainability of the Pfeifer Group.
