Mechatronics technician

About this job

Our mechatronics technicians work with mechanical, electrical and electronic systems and ensure that machinery and equipment function reliably. During your apprenticeship, you learn to assemble components and parts, lay and connect cables, and service, repair and commission systems. Measuring electrical and mechanical variables, adjusting control systems and programming computer-controlled equipment are also part of the training.

Mechatronics combines the main training areas of metal technology and electrical engineering, giving you a varied technical field of work.

In the automation-technology specialisation, you install, test and commission control and regulating systems and configure automation systems for mechatronic equipment.

In the production-engineering specialisation, you work with pneumatic and hydraulic systems, commission machinery, analyse faults and rectify them independently.
