Drei Pfeifer-Mitarbeiter in gelben Warnschutzjacken auf einem Holzlagerplatz mit Kran im Hintergrund

Wood-processing mechanic

Focus: sawmill technology
Duration: 3 years
Training locations: Unterbernbach, Uelzen, Lauterbach, Schlitz

About this job

Our wood-processing mechanics ensure that the natural raw material wood is turned into high-quality products. They operate and monitor modern production facilities, control manufacturing processes and ensure that our products meet demanding quality requirements.

During your training, you accompany the entire production process, from the delivered logs to the finished wood product. You become familiar with different machines and systems, operate modern production equipment and monitor the individual production stages. You check product quality, identify faults at an early stage and assist in rectifying them.

Maintenance work and the replacement of wear and spare parts are also part of your responsibilities. You therefore actively help ensure that our systems run reliably and production operates smoothly. After your training, a wide range of development opportunities is open to you, for example in machine and plant operation or production planning.
